Flávia Maurício, lives and maintains her art studio in Brasilia, Brazil. Having graduated with a Bachelors and Licentiate Degree in Painting and Fine Arts by the University of Pelotas/RS, Brazil, in 1982, she devoted years to works with acrylic and watercolor, taking part in a number of individual and collective exhibitions.
In 2007, she fell in love with the endless possibilities provided by clay and ceramics that, since then, became her primary form of artistic expression. Her sculptures, objects and installations have organic forms as the source of their design, revealing a universe of perceived and intuited images that are embodied in partnership with fire. In her line of research and creation, Flávia always seeks solutions within the contemporary language.
