Sid was born in the city of Sao Paulo, Brazil. starting at a very young age, he found a passion in drawing and went on to attend his first art class when he was 12. At the age of 19, his horizon took a panoramic leap and he moved to the United States and graduated with a degree in Graphic Design from SDSU. In 2000, his career shifted once he taught himself how to tattoo and began tattooing from home. Now with 15 years of experience, Sid has tattooed internationally, owns his own shop, has had work published and continues to develop his style and push the boundaries on skin. Creating sculptures has become his most recent artistic outlet, creating narratives by using found objects, children s toys, broken tools and abandoned materials. His sculptures find influence in anything from historical figures, the concrete jungle of New York City to social and political taboos. He now tattoos full-time, showcases his sculptures in various galleries and continues to create and grow as an artist in Sao Paulo, NYC and Newark.
